To address this challenge and develop a more energy-efficient, economical, and sustainable heating system, this paper proposes a novel PV/T-GSHP-PCM (photovoltaic/thermal-ground source heat pump-phase change material) system. A simulation model of the system was developed, and its performance was thoroughly analyzed.
Annual energy consumption of the PV/T-GSHP-PCM system is 9007 kWh, while the annual system capacity is 9184 kWh. The system has an annual generation capacity that meets energy consumption and generates an extra 177 kWh of electricity, resulting in zero-energy operation of the system for the entire year.
The energy consumption of the PV/T-GSHP-PCM system is lower than that of the GSHP system due to the fact that the temperature is higher when PV/T is utilized as the heat source and the heat recovery is done at the heating end using PCM.
After simulation modeling of the PV/T-GSHP-PCM (photovoltaic/thermal-ground source heat pump-phase change material) system, the building heating performance, heat utilization efficiency, economy, environmental friendliness and sustainability aspects of the system are analyzed.
